Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I may also throw in the odd post of whatever the hell I like. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! PLEASE NOTE: I rate my films different from the standard 5 star approach. As I work in the cinema industry I am aware that the most expensive general admission ticket is $16.50. My rating of a film is based on what I think the ticket is worth in a dollar amount up to $16.50 (a perfect film). If I think a film is worth about $5- it's probably not worth watching in my opinion. 90210 is Coming Back

May 18th 2008 12:45
OMFG!! They are going back there again!?

Beverly Hills, 90210 was a popular primetime television drama series that aired from October 4, 1990, to May 17, 2000, on FOX in the United States and subsequently on various networks around the world. The show followed the lives of a group of teenagers living in the upscale, star-studded community of Beverly Hills, California and attending the fictitious West Beverly Hills High School and then-fictitious California University. The show was created by Darren Star and produced by Aaron Spelling and Spelling Television. The "90210" in the title refers to one of the suburb's postal ZIP codes.

Originally the central characters were twins Brandon (played by Jason Priestley) and Brenda Walsh (played by Shannen Doherty), who moved with their parents, Jim and Cindy, from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Beverly Hills. However, during the show's run, the focus shifted as characters came and went. The show addressed many topical issues like date rape, alcoholism, domestic violence, gay rights, drug abuse, teenage suicide, AIDS, and teenage pregnancy.

The show gained popularity during the summer of 1991, when FOX aired a special "summer season" of the show while most other series were in reruns. The series became one of FOX's top shows when it began its season that fall. Viewership increased dramatically and the cast members, particularly Jason Priestley and Luke Perry, became teen idols, while the series would make actresses Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling household.

I was so addicted to this show and had the massiveist crush on Brandon Walsh (Jason Priestly) but this was 80's brilliance. What the fu&* are they thinking bringing it back to 2008 - most of the people who watched it then won't give a shit now.!!! Although Lori Loughlin is in it and I just love her (Summerland plus much more). This series, focusing on a West Beverly graduate who returns to the school to become the new principal, is slated to debut sometime in 2008 on the CW network. This New Series is named "90210" removing the "Beverly Hills" from the name to show it isn't that same show. Lori Loughlin has already been placed on contract as a regular cast member, and it is known that Jennie Garth will reprise the role of Kelly Taylor. Ian Ziering is lobbying to return as Steve Sanders. It is also anticipated that Tori Spelling will make a comeback as well.

Here is the TSR trailer (totally crap and with no info what so ever) but watch anyway. Thankyou Perez Hilton!

OMFG! It shows how badly some of the actor's careers have gone if they're going back to this has been. I still have nightmares about Tori Spelling's boobs.

I think it's more to do with producers not having any new ideas. They see that 90210 made a fortune and had such a cult following that even if they get 50% of that they will be fine for at least a season, it's silly bean counting gambles on the entertainment we used to love. You know you will probably watch it for a show or 2 and maybe they will hook u in by then. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to them!!!

And OMG - I had forgotten those boobs!!!!! Damn you Johnny!!!! I am going to have to drink tonight now!!
