OK - I do like the trailer a lot - I think it's more of a teaser but considering it is based on a board game it does successfully combine what to me looks like a mash up of Under Siege, Junamji/Zathura and Predators

Peter Berg produces and directs Battleship, an epic action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Based on Hasbro's classic naval combat game, "Battleship" stars Taylor Kitsch as Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam, a physical therapist and Hopper's fiance, Alexander Skarsgard as Hopper's older brother, Commanding Officer Stone of the USS Samson; Rihanna as Lt. Raikes, Hopper's crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone's superior (and Sam's father), Admiral Shane.
Now I love Liam Neeson, but I think he will get killed off near the start. I absolutely love Taylor Kitsch (megaspunk) and think he is on a bit of a mega rise to stardom but Rihanna, REALLY???????. I did not picture her as being a member of the navy or being suitable for this kind of film, we will see soon though I suppose.
The film is directed by Peter Berg which is promising. He has directed a few eps of Friday Night Lights and then the films Hancock & The Kingdom. Then the film is written by Erich and Jon Hoeber who wrote RED (not too bad) and WHITEOUT (horrid). So I think we could seriously be looking at a cross between Under Siege and Predators
And we can judge until our heart's content on May 18 next year when this one releases.
