Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. Beastly Boys ($3-) A Trashy Gay Horror Flick

Beastly Boys ($3-)

This is quite possibly the worst movie ever produced and put to film. Filmed on 16mm by David Decoteau who is known for his trashy films back in 2006 I was told I would like this film, someone is about to receive an E-Slap. I did like it for one reason alone, having a constant perve on totally hot, model, college guys being slaughtered badly in their underwear.

Beasly Boyz, David Decoteau, Sebastion Gacki

This film has absolutely nothing going for it except incredibly hot guys. It has been described as a torture film and yet the torture is basically knife play and I mean horrendously long knife play. It was like Decoteau wanted to make a porn but the entire cast said no so he got the most they would allow him too. If he made it into a gay porno it would have been much much better The film has a homoerotic feel to it but is just a tease and not really gay except for twisted boy Travis and his desire to play with knives, there is even a scene with him kissing a knife and it looks like he could be playing with himself off camera. Travis is definately in the closet and would have been better off seducing the guys and getting away from his sick love of knives.

There are shots that go close to ten full minutes of Travis, Sebastion Gacki, running a knife over a sleeping guy wearing his underwear. Nice bod to watch but come on! Have a plot or make it a porno, lol. He goes over a set of abs for a full five minutes, I have no idea why he strips them to their underwear, as he does himself. One guy who is gagged also watches Travis running knives over him while self gagged, it just does not make sense!!!

Beastly Boyz, David Decoteau, Sebastian Gacki

The film starts with Travis finding his sister on a wharf with a bit of blood on the side of her mouth but then Travis does a hell of a lot of impressive exercise in his boxers and then decides to sit down with his hands over candle flames and channels his sister. It is discovered that six of the hottest guys known to man have killed her. All of them look amazing, all of them love to exercise and all of them are staying at a remote camp in seperate places that are all too far away from other people. You then get 6 scenes of Travis killing them, one by one and most of them are in underwear for the murder. One guy gets tied up spreadeagled so Travis can slide a knife up and down him for a very long amount of time. The actor looks bored, he is not even showing the emotion of being scared, direction please Mr Decoteau!!

Beastly Boyz, David Decoteau, Sebastian Gacki

The acting is shockingly woeful and none of them have ever attended an acting class, I am pretty sure they all came off a catwalk or from a college gym class. There is no speaking from the actors at all, the entire film is done voiceover and OMG, Travis has this thing he does to look creepy with his eyes that made me burst out laughing. Not one of these guys would even want to use this film as a showreel unless going for an underwear commercial.

Woeful and I wouldn't even recommend it for a trashy gay film night - it is too odd and you get more story from porn. It scores 50c per hot bod - total $3-

Gay horror - Troy in a bad mood Hahaha

I knew I would at least get one comment on this post and it would be from you - was that gaydar going off again??

I should do a Top Films of the decade post - would be hard to consider. Seeing as though you did 40, Jon has done 60 - maybe I will do 20

Jason, thanks for taking one for the team! The horrorphiles that is, not the gay boys. Rather you than me on this one.
If you're gonna watch a subversive gay nightmare, than William Friedkin's Cruising is where the buck stops.

Hahahahahaha Bryn - glad I could help for whichever team
Cruising is on my list now!! Thanks and steer clear of this one, I can't even call it film. It makes the gay TV show Dante's Cove look like a blockbuster of Titanic proportions

Morgan - ok - I will do a 20 but 2 films from every year so it gets an even spread. Looking forward to sitting down and doing this, probs over this weekend. Avatar number one

And NO LOTR bashing!!

Jason, be warned on viewing Cruising. It's by no means a homosexual-friendly movie, and was heavily criticized upon its release (and still is), but it features a brilliant performance from Al Pacino, a great underground disco soundtrack (made in 1980), and exudes a convincingly sleazy, pungent and authentic NYC atmosphere. It's also very violent in places. A controversial movie then ... and now.
