Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! Also, be sure to check out my other blogs www.sydneytable.com and http://www.orble.com/total-randomness/ PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. Trailer of the Day: Country Strong - Gwyneth's Crazy Heart

: Gwyneth lets her hair down!
Category: No Category
A drama centered on a rising country-music songwriter (Hedlund) who sparks with a fallen star (Paltrow). Together, they mount his ascent and her comeback, which leads to romantic complications involving her husband/manager (McGraw) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Meester).

Country Strong, Gwyneth Paltrow, Garret Hedlund, Tim McGraw

I am not the biggest Gwyneth fan as I find her too innocent and always playing things "safe". However I like the look of this. I am calling it Gyneth's Crazy Heart, considering the majority of the inner US worships country music Gwyneth could be heading for an Oscar nomination. The film is written and directed by Shana Feste who made The Greatest in 2009 with Carey Mulligan, Aaron Johnson, Susan Sarandon and Pierce Brosnan. One of the producers is also a little spideyman known as Tobey Maguire. The film is releasing in early 2011 and I am actually kind of looking forward to it. Formulaic maybe but still promising.

Sounds a little A Star Is Born with the gender roles reversed. I find Paltrow sort of irritating to be honest but I have liked a couple of her films. Might be worth a check out.

I think nearly everyone says the exact same thing about Paltrow - but same - this one has interested me.

Thanks for the visit Mike.
