Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. Trailer 2 of the Day: Due Date - HYSTERICAL

: I cried with laughter in the trailer!
Category: No Category
Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr.) is an expectant first-time father whose wife's due date is a mere five days away. As Peter hurries to catch a flight home from Atlanta to be at her side for the birth, his best intentions go completely awry when a chance encounter with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) forces Peter to hitch a ride with Ethan - on what turns out to be a cross-country road trip that will ultimately destroy several cars, numerous friendships and Peter's last nerve.

Due Date Trailer, Robert Downey Jr., Zach Galifianakis, Michelle Monaghan, Jamie Foxx

OK - this looks like comedy of the year. Made by the people who brought us The Hangover, Todd Phillips, and starring Downey Jnr and Zach Galifianakis this one is a massive winner!!! Can't wait and out in November.

Looks like a bit of a laff
Downey's probably worked more in the last five years than he has in his entire career up to that point.

LOL - "you better check yourself before you wreck yourself!" I haven't heard that in ages!

I don't know if you've ever heard of FirstShowing.net (and you probably have) - they have an early scoop on all the trailers for upcoming movies and a lot of obscure ones as well. That was my source when I was spotlighting trailers. Just a heads up.

Cheers...

Agreed Bryn but to be honest I preferred Downey Jnr's work before he got busted for drugs - loved his older stuff. I still enjoy most of his films now but to me it's standard Downey Jnr in everything - but I do think this one looks less pretentious than Iron Man and Sherlock etc. A bit more real life situation comedy that to me looks a little less egocentric

Deni - had not heard of first showing - there is a bunch I use, mainly Addict to get my stuff and I have them all on RSS feeds on my homepage - they do the work for me hahaha. Thanks for the heads up.

Agreed.
Have you seen Downey in Two Girls and a Guy?
He's great in Restoration too.
And of course Chaplin and Less Than Zero.

Haven't seen the first two Bryn but Less than Zero is my fave Downey Jnr film - it started my love for Brett Easton Ellis - and last week the sequel to the book actually came out - looking forward to reading it!

Yeah, I'm a huge Ellis fan, probably my favourite contemporary author. My wife and I are going to a signing of the new novel soon. I'm thinking of being a complete geek and taking all my other Ellis novels along with me so he can sign those too. Which is your fave novel? I love them all, except The Informers disappointed. Glamorama is probably my fave. Masterpiece. Lunar Park is fantastic. The Rules of Attraction was my fave for years (while I was a uni student myself). And as difficult and impressive as American Psycho is, I actually think the movie version succeeded in areas where the novel lost its way.

O M G - he is coming out for a book-signing - when and where - I will so be in that cue.

It;s a tie for me between American Psycho and Rules of Attraction as my faves and I am pretty sure I have not read the last one - Lunar Park.

I was so obsessed with Am Psycho that one of my email addresses is still patrickbatemanau@.......

Hi Jason,

Saw this trailer before "Inception" and didn't laugh, instead just felt sorry for Downey Jr.

He must really be going after the paycheck.

I am a massive fan of the man. His performance in Wonderboys is great post rehab moment for sure and truly hilarious. But i agree on drugs he was exceptionally creative in his performances and may have peaked early.

Then again what do I know, i thought The Hangover was average at best with only an "In the air tonight" chuckle. In fact all it did was made me throw in "Very Bad Things" straight after to get the laugh I was craving.

I enjoyed The Hangover JD but it was nothing out of this world - all the younger people at work thought it was the best thing ever made - m'eh was my response.

I feel really bad but have never seen Wonderboys Will put it on my list.

But I did find this one funny - it will be good for me to see Downey Jnr in something more normal and less superheroish (this includes Sherlock).
