Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! Also, be sure to check out my other blogs www.sydneytable.com and http://www.orble.com/total-randomness/ PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. In 140 AD, two men - master and slave - venture beyond the edge of the known world on a dangerous and obsessive quest that will push them beyond the boundaries of loyalty and betrayal, friendship and hatred, deceit and heroism. The Roman epic adventure The Eagle stars Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell and is directed by Academy Award winner Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland).

20 years earlier, Rome's 5,000-strong Ninth Legion, under the command of Flavius Aquila, marched north carrying their treasured golden Eagle emblem. They never returned; Legion and Eagle simply vanished into the mists. Hearing a rumor that the Eagle has been seen in a tribal temple in the far north, Flavius' son Marcus (Tatum), determined to restore the tarnished reputation of his father, is galvanized into action. Accompanied only by his slave Esca (Bell), Marcus sets out into the vast and dangerous highlands of Scotland - to confront its savage tribes, make peace with his father's memory, and retrieve the hallowed Eagle. Along the way Marcus realizes that the mystery of his father's disappearance may well be linked to the secret of his own slave's identity and loyalty - a secret all the more pressing when the two come face-to-face with the warriors of the fearsome Seal Prince (Tahar Rahim).

I have high hopes for this. Great director and god knows Channing Tatum needs one to bring out the good acting hidden within him. I know he has it - and when he gets that acting in sync with his looks watch out people!! Also, Jamie Bell just rocks. Bring it on I say - this one releases 25th Feb in the US with no locked in release date in Australia.

I just had to slip in a hottie shot of Channing

this looks like utter shit. Any director who decides to cast Channig Tatum as a lead role for an Ancient Rome film deserves to sit in one of Jigsaws unbeatable traps.

LOL - you're an idiot Sam - he sees something that others do not - anyways - you could be right but I will reserve judgement until I see it.

Am trying to catch up on the movies - as you can see. It impressed me.... I watched the clip 3 times. Just wanted to see the action. Yet to show the man - he'll give a verdict. Like a bit of sword fighting. Haven't seen much since Lord of the Rings. Shall see and tell after the event. K
