Trailer 1 of the Day: The Fighter with Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale and Amy Adams

Wahlberg's Rocky :)
Category: Trailers
The Fighter follows boxer "Irish" Micky Ward (Mark Wahlberg) and his unlikely "true story" road to the world light welterweight title. His Rocky-like rise was shepherded by half-brother Dicky (Christian Bale), a boxer-turned-trainer who rebounded in life after nearly being KO'd by drugs and crime.
Bale lost a lot of weight for this role. Nothing close to what he did to his body for The Machinist, but you can tell he's skipped a few meals to get the "drugs" look. We could be expecting a few nominations early next year if this trailer is anything to go by.
Amy Adams also stars as the love interest of Mark Wahlberg's character.
Directed by David O. Russell (Three Kings), The Fighter will be released December 10th alongside The Tourist and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Am not complaining - Bale being a fine actor, and a suitable brother for Wahlberg and Wahlberg with his shirt off lots - this is going to be good

Film & TV on DVD
Trailer for this looks really average for a David O Russell production. Looks like by the numbers feel good cinema, blah...

What is it about boxing flicks?
So many critics when it comes to the sport - so many fans when it comes to Hollywood.
Has a release date been touted yet?

I am not a huge boxing film fan - but when I do watch them I do enjoy them - I think I will like this one - really like Bale and Wahlberg.
It does mention the release date in the article
