Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed. Carl Jung (1875 - 1961)

Film of the Year - RoboGeisha

July 2nd 2009 09:45
: Trailer Included
Category: No Category
This is the one you have all been waiting for, the one you need to race out and buy tickets for as soon as they are onsale - that is unless they aren't all sold out. Look out Academy Awards and all trophies start quivering because this monumental film of total awesomeness has arrived.

RoboGeisha

Welcome RoboGeisha. RoboGeisha, Noboru Iguchi's delicate meditation on feminism in Japan, is your typical awards-baiting costume melodrama: Geisha assassins who kill adversaries with deadly swords and chainsaws sprouting from their mouths, transform into tanks, have machine-gun busts, katana-sword hips and... use shrimp tempura daggers to take out the eyes of villains. And that's just the half of it - we can't quite describe certain other elements here, so be warned: this is gonna rock.

It looks hysterical - I want to turn into a mini tank during peak hour and to be able to regurgitate up a bandsaw - so cool

Oh dear. when I was reading your post I immediately thought of The Machine Girl, and then turns out this is from the same director. Except this looks even more trashy! Waaaaaay too much CGI. Machine Girl and Tokyo Gore Police relied more on prosthetic work, which I dig. Don't think I'll bother with this, although I like the poster.

Don't know if I will see it either Bryn - have not seen the others eithere. I just watched the trailer and laughed for about half an hour so had to post it. I want to transform into a tank desperately for peak hour
