Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. Free Tix and Soundtracks to How to Lose Freinds & Alienate People

OK - so this is probably the longest Post title of all time but directors will choose long films names.
I hope everyone has been extremely well! - I have just returned from a debaucherous 8 days in outer Adelaide with many friends from school. I have many a post and photo to share at a later date - I am still in holiday mode and really need to shower.

But the kind people at Paramount and my father Xmas - Rob from Network PR have given me 3 double passes and 3 copies of the soundtrack to giveaway.

I have not had the chance to see the film yet as have been away and avoiding cinemas but it looks damn funny! It stars Simon Pegg, Megan Fox, Gillian Anderson, Thandie Newton, Jeff Bridges and Kirsten Dunst.

Sidney Young is a disillusioned intellectual who both adores and despises the world of celebrity, fame and glamour. His alternative magazine, Post Modern Review, pokes fun at the media obsessed stars and bucks trends, and so when Young is offered a job at the diametrically opposed conservative New York based Sharps magazine its something of a shock! It seems Sharps editor Clayton Harding is amused by Young's disruption of a post-BAFTA party with a pig posing as Babe. Thus begins Sidney's descent into success - his gradual move from derided outsider to confidante of starlet Sophie Maes - and a love affair with colleague Alison Olsen, that will either make him or break him.

If you want one of these three prizes just leave a message below and personal message me your postal details. First three win - if by chance you freak out and can't work out how to leave a message below a) your silly and b) email me instead at jkdigitaldesigns@gmail.com

Ooh we love debauchery! Tell all. I just spent a debaucherous few days in Brisvegas, lots of fun and hangovers.

Pick me, pick me. although, I don't think I need lessons in alienating people, I seem to have it down pat

LOL CJ - yay Brisvegas - I am going to write a massive review about our trip on my other site in coming days and I am now writing on Sydney Table too and as we went to visit a friend who owns a restaurant in Adelaide and in 6 days I ate the entire menu I have big restaurant review for that plus a million vineyards I am probably banned from for drinking all their expensive stuff! I am having trouble remembering my name!
One set of tix and soundtrack on the way!!
I think I still have your address.

Hi Jason,

Screenfanantic and I would love to go to this movie and add the soundtrack to our collection. Saw it reviewed on the Movie Show on Wednesday night. It looks like it could be a bit of fun!

It sounds funny though I thought the male lead didn't really personify 'intellectual'. Unless intellectual is suppose to mean so nerdy/geeky that he's out of touch with everything else. In any case, it's a great deviation from Dale Carnegie's famous book title and will surely catch a lot of attention.

I'm giving away passes as well, but instead of giving out slick soundtracks, Paramount asked me to give away offensive T-shirts. I've still got a few, enter to win!

Ooooh Cib - are you giving away shirts that say young dumb and full of......I'll let you imagination fill out the rest.

Jason I saw this film - I found it mildly entertaining but nothing I'd write home about - be warned though if you wanted to shoot yourself in the head when you saw Kirsten dunst doing the twist in spiderman 3 then stay away form this one
