Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! Also, be sure to check out my other blogs www.sydneytable.com and http://www.orble.com/total-randomness/ PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. Trailer of the Day: Into Great Silence

The trailer for Into Great Silence which will make its Premiere at the 2010 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.

Into great silence, trailer, Grande Chartreuse, Catholic Church

Into Great Silence is the first film ever made chronicling life inside the Grande Chartreuse, nestled deep in the stunning French Alps. Founded in 1084, it is considered one of the world's most ascetic monasteries and home to the Catholic Church's strictest order. Here the monks dedicate themselves entirely to the service of God and to spiritual life- in permanent silence. One of the most mesmerizing and poetic chronicles of spirituality ever created, this film is a rare, transformative experience for all.

It does say it will premiere at the Hot Docs but at the end of the trailer it states that it has won five awards already. Official Selection for Venice, Winner Euro Film Academy, Winner Sundance and so on...... Maybe this means it's public premiere? Anyways it looks very interesting. To me it will be like watching an Enigma film clip I do not understand but respect people of great faith, discipline and dedication to an unknown entity.
