Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! Also, be sure to check out my other blogs www.sydneytable.com and http://www.orble.com/total-randomness/ PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. : Looks Awesome!!
Category: No Category
Imagine... John Lennon's childhood. Liverpool 1955: a smart and troubled fifteen year old is hungry for experience. In a family full of secrets, two incredible women clash over John: Mimi, the buttoned-up Aunt who raised him, and Julia, the prodigal mother. Yearning for a normal family, John escapes into the new and exciting world of rock n' roll where his fledgling genius finds a kindred spirit in the teenage Paul McCartney. Just as John begins his new life, tragedy strikes. But a resilient young man finds his voice - and an icon explodes into the world.

Nowhere Boy, Aaron Johnson

This looks brilliant - Aaron Johnson looks amazing prior to his role in Kick Ass, this one received a limited release in a few countries last year and is now going massive thanks to Johnson doing so well in Kick Ass. He is set to blaze in film world and this film is something that will interest a lot of people. It is directed by Sam Taylor Wood and this being here directing debut has received some initial glowing reviews.

Nowhere Boy, Aaron Johnson

To the #2 anonymous post...Not a very nice post but I'm sure you know that.

While this movie was already released in some countries, in other countries it still has yet to be released. So therefore when you say "it came out months ago", that's not quite accurate. It's due out in the States on October 8, 2010

Other release dates are as follows:

USA 17 June 2010 (Provincetown International Film Festival)

USA 20 June 2010 (Nantucket Film Festival)

Norway 10 September 2010
USA 8 October 2010
Spain 5 November 2010
Germany 9 December 2010

This is an international website, it doesn't only service Australia and/or the U.K. So people in other countries will appreciate the news, even if you don't.

Cheers.

Hahahahahahaha - what an idiot I am sometimes.

I would like to very much thank Sammy and Bede on FB for contacting me about this and for the first anonymous and my hero of the day, Deni.

As to the dickhead 2nd anonymous I do not deem myself perfect and mistakes are made. I choose to learn from them and improve otherwise what's the point. I may be imperfect but you will probably always be a dickhead.

Dear All,
The trailer for this film is heavily being promoted for the US release and hence why I was posting it. I did misread the Australian date and posted the wrong year with my info in regards to the film. You are correct that I should have gotten my information correct but it was on such a limited release in this country from it's earlier time of last year that nearly everyone missed it, myself included. I had a suspicion the title was familiar. I do apologise if I misled some people and/ or offended some others. The film is apparently out now on DVD in Australia so GO ANG GET IT!!!!

Have a great day
JK
