In the film, Logan Lerman plays Percy Jackson, Poseidon's son who goes on a quest in present-day America to rescue his mother, return Zeus' stolen lightning bolt and prevent a civil war from erupting among the gods.
Chris Columbus has moved on from Harry Potter and I did find his first two films the best of the series. They were the truest to the books and had the most attention to detail. With Harry Potters winding down to an end Columbus is bringing us a new book series to the big screen that may or may not fill the void left when Harry is over for good on the big screen. It is failry similar, kids, magic, power, good guys and bad guys and an impressive cast. Catherine Keener, Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, Rosario Dawson and Sean Bean plus the lead kid Logan Lerman.
The film with the longest title I have seen for a long time will be releasing early February. I hope it's good - I will need my annual Harry Potter fix/ replacement. And with five books already this could just do it if handled well. I have faith in Chris Columbus.
