Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. Point Break Sequel is on the Way

Jan De Bont is set to direct the sequel to Point Break, currently titled "Point Break Indo" due to its setting in South East Asia.

The initial plans were announced over a year ago but further information came out at Cannes this week.

I just LOVED Point Break, I think I was 19 and that first time I saw Keanu doing firing practice crossed with a wet t-shirt contest with that hair dripping water and the slow mo - oh hang on - I need a minute to compose myself. OK - you get the point. I fell in love!! And most Keanu lovers I think will call this a pivotal moment for the dude with the mostest. He became a man! Even though most filmies will bag the film out for it's corniness - who can forget a film that introduced us with the saying "young, dumb and full of cum". Or that apocalyptic attempt at Australian accents at the end of the film. NOT ME. After watching this flick I wanted to skydive (check), surf (boo me) and basically be the god known as Reeves. LOL

The sequel, which will be set in Southeast Asia, will take place 20 years after the disappearance of the leader of the gang, played by Patrick Swayze. One report I read said that Swayze will be donning the wetsuit again while one other I read said that neither of the lead characters had said anything about reprising their roles. Health permitting and all the best to Mr Swayze I do hope we can see him as Bodhi again and while highly unlikely it would be awesome to see The Keanu back in a wettie!

Jan De Bont has had an amazing career. One of the best action cinematographers around he is responsible for the visuals for the following blockbusters;
Cujo, The Jewel of the Nile, Ruthless People, Die Hard, Black Rain, The Hunt for Red October (just love this film), Basic Instinct, Lethal Weapon 3 and many more. But in 1992 he stopped the cinematography and decided to try his hand at directing and producing. At producing he was responsible for Speed 2 - we won't hold this against him, The Haunting - ok he slaughtered this. As a director he is responsible for Speed - yes he knows how to make Keanu look hot! But then he also directed Speed 2 - did he read this script? He did Twister and I loved this so bows to him. So - it is quite possible this is a 50/50 chance of being great!!

Do we all need a sequel to Point Break - in my opinion ONLY if we get the leads back and Keanu gets his kit off. Haha

Bodhi is the Sanskrit word traditionally translated into English as "enlightenment." The word "buddha" means "one who has achieved bodhi." Bodhi is also frequently translated as "awakening."
He may not be dead but moved onto higher planes of existence. He could've floated away from the wave and he was a sneaky bastard in the film. Anything is possible!
Hahahahahahahahahaha
Yeah - it might be crap but it will be interesting!!

I think most of them either got killed off or just copped a few bullets. Don't know if they could still surf or do anything coordinated now though. An abundance of partying, concerts and top notch drugs kind of mess with the balance. LOL
