Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! Also, be sure to check out my other blogs www.sydneytable.com and http://www.orble.com/total-randomness/ PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. That left a very large lump in my throat - and tears in my eyes. It has impact...even on my small computer screen. Can one just imagine the scale of it all on Imax 3D. I'm waiting.... Oh Yeah...... K

Vader is back bitches!!

And yes Bryn - you definitely missed something. It probably happened when old age and cynicism set in

Mum and I are massive Harry fans from reading all the books and owning all the DVDs and Blu Rays so the Potter tale is very close to our hearts. We are lovers and not haters lol

Vader for PM!

I may be on in my years - but I have grown up with Harry Potter over the years with many a child that also has been enthralled with the novels. The movies are and always will be classics - where many emotions will be experienced - many feel connected with the lives of the characters - they have looked into the core of many an individual and they become "family ". Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones that has gained knowledge and wisdom along their journey......Krysia

No but seriously, where did you shed a tear?? It must be because you know who actually dies, so a certain weight is carried, that I'm unaware of.

This is the culmination of seven big books that tell an amazing tale. The scene in the trailer where Harry says "help me" took him 7 books to ask. It is a pivotal moment in the entire story and one that will make most hardened Harry fans a wee bit emotional.
These last two movies are all about David taking on Goliath in the final battle between good and evil. It is epic - the teaser trailer gives me goosebumps when you see Harry and Voldermort in slowmo with wands raised and an arc of energy between them. I said it in the article but it reminded me of being a child and watching the light sabre battle in Empire. Brilliant!

It looks like the darkest of the series, so it interests me more so ... Did they film it with 3D cameras? Or is it one of those productions where the 3D was added after?

Unfortunately it is only 25mins of the last 2 films that will be in 3D - they had about 5mins in the last one that was out. This is what Wiki says:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be the only entry from the series to be converted entirely in 3D.

Although they may be wrong with the "converting" thing - time will tell - the last one had good 3D for under 5mins - I think it was Dark Knight style - scenes filmed in IMAX 3D added into the whole of the feature.

So Deathly Hallows wasn't filmed with 3D cameras then.
I'm confused, you're telling me the last two movies will have only 25 mins in 3D, but then the quote says "only entry to be converted entirely in 3D" ...
Surely they could afford to put the whole movie in 3D!!!

I am not sure Bryn - I know what I find online about this one.

I am not going to be watching it in 3D - with only approximately 5mins for the last one cinemas received numerous complaints about having to pay extra to wear glasses for only 5mins.

Perhaps Wiki is getting messed up info from various sources.

From further looking this is what I found:

Conversion expenses have been coming down, so each film will cost just $5 million to change into 3D. Warners also will absorb an additional $5 million expense per pic to pay for 3D glasses for exhibitors handling the movies.

Stupid bloody Warner Bros - did they not learn that Clash of the Titans 3D was appalling - there u have it - they are converting. The decision for 3D on Potter probably came after they filmed it or had begun filming.
