Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed. Carl Jung (1875 - 1961)

My Scoring is Changing!!!

The time has come for me to succumb to a more suitable scoring technique for my film reviews.

Jason King

This has been a long time coming and has been nibbling at my mind for weeks. The prices of film tickets are constantly fluctuating and with the release of DIGITAL 3D the general price of a movie ticket will soon be $20-. If I am going to score a film out of $20- I might as well score it out of 10.

So from now on - all films will be rated out of 10. No 11's or higher. Just 0 to 10.

I couldn't find a good image for "change of score" so instead you can all laugh at a pic of me a friend did with an Iphone Application.

Goodbye $$ scoring - I will miss you

Hahaha - thanks Morgan!

Get into it - it's a quick review with a number. Most of my friends ask me "how much did you rate this film?" etc

Don't worry Filmink will have to continue to carry the burden of scoring out of ticket price worth ...

So that's not your haircut? Shame, it suits you

I've never really scored movies in the whole fifteen years I've been film reviewing ... I felt it was too constrictive. Hang on, I did for a short while, when I was film reviewer for rushTV.com ...
It was very Y-Gen-centric and went something like:
***** = rocks!
**** = cool
*** = good
** = average
* = sucks!
Pretty ordinary really ...

LOL - not my haircut thankgod - bastardo

Yeah - out of 5 stars suited me also - but I thought ten gives it me a broader scoring system. I do like giving it a score first, then working backwards as to why. I have some great friends that like to question me and help get to my decision - as do most on Orble when they disagree, Bryn

Have a good one!

The applications you can get on Iphones are amazing Janet - I wish I had one. I got the Nokia counterpart touchscrren phone and it has the WORST applications ever and has more probs than the IPhone.

Thanks re the pic I think

that picture did make me laugh

The pricing review would be tricky.....which is why I never bother - although now that I'm back on orble again maybe I might start scoring films??
