Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! Also, be sure to check out my other blogs www.sydneytable.com and http://www.orble.com/total-randomness/ PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. Sex and the City 2 TRAILER

: The Ladies Look Better than in the First FILM
Category: No Category
This is a pretty non revealing trailer but it looks good and fun. I also think they all look much better than they did in the first film. Amazing what botox and the removal of one mole can do Believe it or not she wears a stunt double mole for the flashback scenes.

Sex and the City 2 poster, Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, Miranda, sarah jessica parker

On the website Trailer Addict the comments for the film are hysterical. The poster and cover of the trailer look like a Zombie film is the general consensus I have to agree that the poster could pass for that

I quite enjoyed the first one Ruby, it was a big surprise as I never really watched the TV show.

This one looks like bigger budget and a bit more slick, although Carrie appears to be wearing some dodgie cloths she calls fashion

Have a MERRY XMAS!

I honestly can't see the point of either movies. The only reason I could see for turning the TV series into a movie would be to up the sex, nudity and profanity levels, which apparently they didn't do, considering the TV series was on HBO which allows a fair amount of sex, nudity and profanity. It was a cheap excuse to squeeze money from an audience addicted to the TV show who were heartbroken that it had finally ended. I saw the teaser trailer to the sequel and it looked like absolute rubbish. I remember enjoying episodes of the TV series years ago during its early seasons, but it jumped the shark long, long ago, way before it was turned into a movie. I'd sooner watch a movie version of Dynasty... Period.

You sound grumpy Bryn

I would love to see a Dynasty movie - hahahahahaha. God I had a crush on Crystal back then. I got to meet Joan Collins once and she gave me a kiss, I was in heaven. Still the best bitch ever on TV.

Never really watched the TV show can't comment on it. I enjoyed the movie and it appeared fun. To me it was like a guys out weekend but with girls and way more money than my friends have

You should like it also because the poster does look like a Zombi movie

Have a Merry Xmas!

Bingo! And there you have the reasoning behind Twilight, Bridget Jones's Diary and pretty much every other film made for women.

Jason, the TV show really was very well written. Sure the characters were shallow as hell and it reveled in its frivolousness but it was still extremely clever.

The film, as Bryn says, is extremely cynical and quite an insult to fans of the series. But of course it did so well because women are so starved for films made for them that they will give up their hard earned for anything that remotely resembles something worthwhile.

There was an episode on the other night that I watched but it was so flat and the jokes were so nut funny.

I think it dated as much as Carrie's clothes

I thought the film was fun though - the scene with the brown haired girl poohing herself had me in stitches

And I love Twilight hahahaha

I don't think the show has dated. i didn't watch it when it was on TV (well i saw a few episodes but didn't watch it regularly). it wasn't until 2006 that i really sat and watched it. i was making a short film set in an art gallery and a friend gave a few episodes that showed Charlotte at work. That's when I got hooked.

Actually the scene you mentioned is probably the only one that is indicative of the show. it was carrie's voiceover that made it (charlotte poughkeepsied in her pants...)

I know you liked Twilight but even in your review you admitted it was pretty much only made for fans of the book and wasn't trying to improve on the material right?

Correct Ruby - it is a fan's movie.

Jason

I am afraid I'll have to agree with Ruby and Bryn. I was a real fan of the TV show but movie no 1 just didn't do it for me. It just seemed like an extra long television show but not as clever somehow.

I think I'll be passing on this one. Too many other goodies to see.
