Skins is BEST TV SHOW EVER MADE
March 25th 2008 03:54
Will probably end up in shit for this but seriously I think this is by far the BEST tv show ever made. And it's not even a US production. LOL
Skins revolves around the lives of a group of 16–19 year-old friends who live in Bristol. It is claimed the series represents the everyday lives of adolescents and I have to agree - I can totally remember having sex with my teacher, feeding my goldfish acid and building pyramids out of sugar cubes when I was bored, hahahaha. But seriously - it is the closest thing to my youth that I can watch, it's not overly cheesy like the OC or Beverly Hills 90210. The group includes a popular boy, a Muslim boy, an openly gay boy, an intelligent and privileged girl with family problems, a party animal in love with his teacher, a pushover who is in love with his best friend's girlfriend,a girl who is worried about her boyfriend's feelings for her and a girl with an eating disorder. These characters attend the fictional Roundview Sixth Form College in Bristol. Each installment has a self-contained theme focusing on each different character respectively, but there are several story arcs that span different episodes.
Have never seen something so "real" - this is like a no bullshit version of the OC crossed with the film Kids and shaken up with some humor, great drugs and lots of sex. LOL
It also helps that I am in love with the "openly gay boy" - you may have seen his picture being used as my avatar. That is Maxxie - played by Mitch Hewer. Another of the characters is Nicholas Hoult who you may remember as the young kid with weird eyebrows from "About a Boy" with Hugh Grant
Anyway, I have downloaded most of the episodes off the net and I know the DVD of first season is available to buy now - although for some STUPID reason the soundtrack has either been americanized or changed due to licensing agreements on the DVD - the original UK music is GOLD!!!!! Someone also told me they had watched some episodes on SBS so check it out. Seriously - it will change your world. LOL It does have many explicit scenes and language so not one to watch if you are an obsessed church goer.

I didn't notice your last message last night. Thanks for your offer, that would be great. My DVD player is fine with burnt stuff, shall I PM my details?
