Superhero Movie is the Best of the Worst

I went into this screening with huge negative feelings towards it. Expecting another total crap spoof film similar to the celluloid disaster known as Meet the Spartans. I was surprised that I actually preferred this to Semi Pro which I saw last week.
It is exactly what you think it to be. A pay out, take off, spoof of Superhero films. Mostly of Spiderman but with Batman, XMen and Fantastic 4 thrown in for good measure. There were probably more that I missed. But it made me laugh. My friend Sam hated it but said the only reason I loved it was that apparently I just love seeing people getting hurt (in a comedy way) on film. I think he's right - in the new Get Smart trailer every time I see The Rock put a stapler into a guys head I nearly piss myself, same goes with this film and spoofs in general - I was crying as the old lady enters a leaf shredder machine while her dog on leash gets closer and closer. OK - I am sick!!
Super is as super does: Finally, the guys behind the outrageously silly "Scary Movie" franchise have used their own 'special powers' to spoof superhero movies. After being bitten by a genetically altered dragonfly, high school loser Rick Riker develop superhuman abilities like incredible strength and armored skin. Rick decides to use his new powers for good and becomes a costumed crime fighter known as "The Dragonfly." However, standing in the way of his destiny is the villainous Lou Landers. After an experiment gone wrong, Lou develops the power to steal a person's life force and in a dastardly quest for immortality becomes the supervillain, "The Hourglass." With unimaginable strength, unbelievable speed and deeply uncomfortable tights, will the Dragonfly be able to stop the sands of The Hourglass and save the world? More importantly, will we stop laughing long enough to notice?
It has way too many fart and boob jokes, one that goes on for nearly 5mins that I was screaming for it to end. And thankyou Pamela Anderson cameo for boob visuals only.
It was amazing to see spoof master Leslie Nielsen back in form - boy, this guy must be made of plastic - he does not age. I really enjoyed Drake Bell as the Dragonfly although I have absolutely no idea who he is and this film prob won't win him any awards however it may give him some credibility for his comic timing. Veteran Chris McDonald is great as the arch enemy and Sara Paxton is scarily too similar to Kirsten Dunst - the voice inflections were creepy.
Not exactly the pick of the crop but better than that Spartans shite and worth way more money than Semi Pro. This would be great for the spoof lover and teenagers will love it - perfect timing releasing it for the holidays.
I would pay $9 for this ticket.
