Denzel is back and off the crappy train to enter a post-apocolyptic tale going head to head with Gary Oldman. The film also stars Jennifer Beals, Malcolm McDowell, Mila Kunis and Michale Gambon.
The film revolves around a lone warrior (Washington) who must fight to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption. Oldman has been set to portray the despot of a small makeshift town who's determined to take possession of the book Eli's guarding.
The film is directed by the Twin Hughes Brothers who are best known for their films Menace II Society and Dead Presidents.
Some trivia about the film:
1) Kristen Stewart turned down Mila Kunis's role due to scheduling conflicts with The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009).
2) Denzel Washington performed all of his own stunts for the hand to hand fight sequences.
3) For the movie Denzel Washington was trained in the martial arts by Bruce Lee's protege, Dan Inosanto.
