Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! Also, be sure to check out my other blogs www.sydneytable.com and http://www.orble.com/total-randomness/ PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed. Carl Jung (1875 - 1961)

The Day the Earth Stood Still ($2-)

Morgan - this one is for you. My total review is as follows:

IT'S SHIT!

I would write more but it just doesn't deserve it - pure pooh on film. JB Hifi has the original for sale for $10- in a collectors set - buy this - it's cheaper than watching this in the cinema and from what I hear, the original is excellent. Sam (who I watched it with) slept through the film, and I sat with my jaw dropped for 90min - seriously it's that bad and this time Keanu is not to blame - he suits the character but the director should be lobotimized. It gets a $2- score because Keanu is ok and the robot looks cool. But mini Will Smith needed direction - kids can't pull magic from their soul unless told what to do and put in the frame of character. Kathy Bates is poorly cast, Jennifer Connoly is beautiful but when the script is embarrassing and the director is just stupid then things go bad bad bad.

Crap - I said way too much - the above wasn't my review - just comments but Morgan, The Happening is heaps better than this - maybe you can find a humorous sub-plot in this one.

Instead of this movie, there is still a movie that almost has the same name, which sounds as "The Day The Earth Stopped" as well, Jason!

Unfortunately, I watched both of these films and I must confess that, "Both of these two movies were S**K!"

Morgan - have u been in Sydney? We should have caught up - if only I wasn't o sick AND you called.
Have not seen BB or Yes Man yet - been to ill to go to the movies. Boo me. I look forward to your scathing comments. Hehe

Wilson - I think The Day the Earth Stopped was a TV movie - where lots of robots come to the planet. I believe it could have been better than this!!

Thanks for the comments guys and have a great day!
