YAY SAM WORTHINGTON
Category: No Category
I have to admit to being a MASSIVE fan of the original and am very excited about the release of this latest remake.
I also think Sam Worthington can do NO wrong, after Terminator, Avatar and this he will soon become film royalty!!
In Clash of the Titans, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.
This is being driected by Louis Leterrier who is best known for bringing us the Incredible Hulk. Besides starring Worthington the massive cast also invludes Liam Neeson as Zeus, Ralph Fiennes as Hades, Gemma Arterton as Io and Nicholas Hoult.
Releasing April Fools Day next year so shine up that sword and grab those sandals - this one is going to kick ass!!

Film & TV on DVD
I'm a massive fan of the original and think that Greek Mythology lends itself beautifully to cinema when done well..the trailer however fails to excite and looks like a 300 lite type affair. Appears overloaded in CG emptiness and fails to convince that it will tell the brilliant story with truie spectacle.
I hope I am wrong because I want to be excited about this one. Not a big Worthington fan either.

Celluloid Fun
The trailer for 'Clash of the Titans' looks awesome.
The cast is fantastic.
I agree Sam Worthington is soon to be the next BIG thing in Hollywood following the release of 'Avatar' and 'Clash of the Titans'. He's no Heath Ledger though, but he comes close.
I also noticed Pete Postlethwaite in the trailer. I really like him so it's great to see Pete in this. He usually plays minor characters who have major impact on the narrative.
Have fun at the movies!
Cheers.

Linh - I agree the cast is kick ass. I prefer Worthington over Ledger in pretty much everything - ok, Dark Knight and Candy were bloody sensational but besides those I did not find him special. Met him once and thought he was a total tool
Same thoughts on PP - think he is great. Ever since I saw him in "In the Name of the Father" I thought he has rocked. Fingers crossed it is good.
SHJ - glad you are looking forward to it - I just loved the first one - was young and didn't notice it as being cheesy but a recent viewing had me giggling - I love the story and hope it comes across as more than "mindless fun".
Thanks for the comments ladies and gents

Keep your eyes out for Percy Jackson - I posted the trailer a while back on this site but it is all about the Greek Mythology also and looks cool - kind of Harry Potter meets Clash of the Titans.
Thanks for popping in!!
