Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! Also, be sure to check out my other blogs www.sydneytable.com and http://www.orble.com/total-randomness/ PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. SYDNEY - TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN is officially the highest grossing Australian film of the year having taken more than AUD$7.7 Million in just two weeks at the Australian box office. Deservedly so I say!! It brings US action film production values to a great Australian story. For my full review of the film go HERE.

The film adaptation of TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN is also a hit with online fans with the film's official Facebook page having reached over 50,000 fans, with this number steadily growing.

TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN has also had great success in New Zealand, taking NZD$840,000 in its two weeks at the New Zealand box office.

Mike Selwyn, Paramount Pictures Australia Managing Director and Vice President Australia/New Zealand, said, "We are looking forward to a successful school holiday period and hope that the film will move on to a much bigger box office and will help pave the way for the sequels that we would all love to see."

Christopher Mapp, Executive Producer on TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN and Omnilab Media Managing Director, added, "To know that Omnilab Media has now overseen production of the highest-grossing Australian film of the year is an extremely proud moment for us as well everyone involved in this exciting Australian production."

TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN was screened to foreign buyers at Toronto by the film's sales agent Inferno. Christopher Mapp said "the film was hotly pursued by distributors at Toronto and we look forward to announcing details of international sales soon."

Stuart Beattie, whose screenwriting credits include Australia, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Collateral, wrote the screenplay and makes his directorial debut on TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN.

Paramount Pictures are distributing and marketing the film in Australia and New Zealand. Principal investor Omnilab Media, through its production arm Ambience Entertainment, has taken the first novel in the series, TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN, from page to screen.
