Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. TOP 10 Movie Posters

Hey Everyone,
I am bored but am cooking the most nasally sensational curry and have 15min of simmering. I have been collecting images of movie posters that I think are memorable and heighten the likability of the film itself. This does not matter if the film is shit - this is solely based on the look of the poster and to me, whether I would hang it on my wall like a print.
What have I missed, what are your faves?

I have a 7ft tall framed banner of this!! Just love it - the bullet looks like it rips the paper.

Number 2:

And I know the film was kind of crap but this is the most iconic moster I have ever seen and it is so subtle - the first time I saw the shadow I gasped!

Thanks for viewing!!

All fabulous choices. I love the Dracula poster, thats always been a fave.

How about this one? It's one of a couple of posters for the Korean movie Huang Jin Yi. I've never seen the movie but the poster is gorgeous!

Thankyou to my 2 fave Orblers. Can always count on you guys for a comment!!
Cheryl - it's a stunning poster, love it - I could have done the top 100 posters because there are so many brilliant ones. I spent a good 2hrs looking last night for a poster but I cannot remember the films title. I have the poster in my collection somewhere. I have a large architects set of plan drawers with about 1000-2000 posters in them. Have been collecting for years. But the film I thought was called Romance. I tried Googling or IMDBing and can you imagine what comes up in Google. 2.5billion online dating services and NO movie. Similar on IMDB. I will sit down and go through my collection. Because the poster is brilliant. B&W Silhouette of a naked lady.

Morgan - thanks. I sold one of those Star Wars posters a couple of years ago for about $200 US. I still have two of them. Just love it.

The first one that came to mind is The Hunt for Red October (the two-tone print is awesome).

Have to agree with most of your list, especially Metropolis and Silence of the Lambs. Also that the Star Wars II one is good--and too bad the movie is crap!

WOW - thanks for the comments!!

JD:
Hard Candy nearly made my list - I had 13 and had to cull 3. This was one of them. Also, love the Escape from NY one - never seen that b4. Way cool.

Raoul: not for everyone but ET poster became the logo for a company it is so symbolic. Plus it was the first film I remember balling my eyes out in. Love it!! LOL Will suss out your list now. Thanks

Irene: Hunt for Red October was another one I had to cull from the 13. I have a copy of that poster and just love it!! And total pity the Star Wars film sucked!!! But the poster makes up for it a small tiny bit.

Jarrah: Thankyou!

Kim: Thanks for stopping by!! Ep 1 poster was only a teaser poster but still the best poster I could find or think about.

Thanks for reading and commenting guys and gals.
Have a great day!

Thanks Hazel for your comment. It is my 2nd favorite film of all time. You can get copies on EBay pretty cheap. I picked one up for $15- including postage about a month ago.
