Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! Also, be sure to check out my other blogs www.sydneytable.com and http://www.orble.com/total-randomness/ PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. Top 10 Films of 2010

: What an amazing year!
Category: Reviews, Interesting
What a sensational year of film. It has been great film after great film with your occasional release of crap - but for once there has been more good films than crap ones. I really thought Inception would have had this one in the bag. Christopher Nolan making a film starring Leo, my god of film. But then along came a film about Facebook that blew me away and I struggled to choose out of the two of them until I saw a little small budget film set in the world of ballet that made my decision.

I am just hoping that 2011 can bring us many more films that equal or better the pedigree of this year. Goodbye 2010 and bring on the new year!

NUMBER 1 OF THE YEAR:

BLACK SWAN 10/10

NUMBER 2 OF THE YEAR:

INCEPTION 10/10

NUMBER 3 OF THE YEAR:

THE SOCIAL NETWORK 10/10

NUMBER 4 OF THE YEAR:

TRON LEGACY 10/10

Top 10 Films of 2010, Tron Legacy

NUMBER 5 OF THE YEAR:

TOY STORY 3 10/10

NUMBER 6 OF THE YEAR:

SHUTTER ISLAND 10/10

NUMBER 7 OF THE YEAR:

KICK ASS 9.5/10

NUMBER 8 OF THE YEAR:

ANIMAL KINGDOM 9/10

NUMBER 9 OF THE YEAR:

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PT 1 9/10

NUMBER 10 OF THE YEAR:

THE LOVED ONES 9/10

I cannot thank you enough for your support and for visiting Salty Popcorn throughout this year and I hope to be writing many more reviews for you in the coming years. I just hope that 2011 brings us films as good as 2010.
Have a sensational New Years and for 2011 may your popcorn always be salty

Thanks for sharing your top ten list I don't see as many films as you do, and I value your opinion on films. I'm looking forward to what 2011 will bring!

Let me know what you think of them when you get to see some of them.

You got me in the mood for list-making

Morgan's Top 10

I havent seen some of yours, but I have had Animal Kingdom and Kick Ass recommended to me by other friends too so I will have to make them a priority.

I note that New Moon, Iron Man 2, and Alice In Wonderland didnt make your cut either. Their were so many hyped-up movies this year that did not live up to expectation.

Will suss out your list soon Morgan - about to jump into bed. Nice work on doing one

You MUST see Black Swan - it is out here on January 13th and I am sure you will rate it high.

New Moon was not impressive for me at all, Iron Man while fun was not a high scorer for me and I loathed Alice in Wonderland - except for Helene Bonham Carter it was overdone Burton with Johnny Depp pretty much playing the weird Johnny Depp we see too much.

I think you will thoroughly enjoy Animal Kingdom and may get a good laugh out of Kick Ass.

Thanks for the comment.

And you know, I still haven't seen Inception or The Social Network . . . do'h!

It'll be on Blu-Ray by the time I get myself in order at the moment.

All the best for 2011 buddy - looking forward more quality reading!

Only 2 I've seen are Shutter Island and Harry Potter. Saw Narnia last night - enjoyed it - but a little slower paced than the first. 3D is amazing - watched the trailer for Tron and hope to see it tomorrow. K

I really enjoyed Kick Ass - the fact it was trashed by some critics because of the foul language from one of the actors didn't worry me - I have a 17 year old son! The language was completely right for the character, and that's what counts!

Mum - you must catch up - can't believe you have not seen Inception. Will have it here on Blu Ray when you are next here!

Kitty - completely agree - it was an amazing film and swearing does not bother me - I have be known to have my bouts of truck driver swearing Too many critics are prudes.

Watched Tron in 3D yesterday. Unbelievable - the complex mind that put it all together and then created and produced and delievered this film. This World of computer knowledge is beyond my grasp. Yet can the future be just like that 100's of years from now. Thank you for the review...K
