Welcome to Salty Popcorn - my site dedicated to expressing my opinion on films. Most of the reviews I read in the paper make me angry that they are either all so negative or I completely disagree with them. So now it's my turn. I hope you enjoy it and if you do sign up for updates on the left hand side. Thanks for stopping in!! Also, be sure to check out my other blogs www.sydneytable.com and http://www.orble.com/total-randomness/ PLEASE NOTE: My scoring of films is now based on an "Out of 10" score. Trailer of the Day: The Tourist with Angelina and Depp

: Jolie and Depp is a weird combo onscreen.
Category: Trailers
Any film directed by a guy with the name Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck deserves a viewing. And this one is starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp so it won't be hideous. Jolie just looks ravenous LOL and the film looks like a lot of fun.

Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Paul Bettany, The Tourist

The Tourist revolves around Frank (Depp), an American tourist visiting Italy to mend a broken heart. Elise (Jolie) is an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path. Against the breathtaking backdrop of Venice, Frank pursues a potential romance but soon finds himself the pursued as he and Elise are caught in a whirlwind of intrigue and danger.

Tom Cruise was originally going to play the lead role but was replaced by Sam Worthington. Johnny Depp replaced Sam Worthington when he dropped out due to creative differences.

Charlize Theron was originally going to play Angelina Jolie's role.

The project went through a number of directorial changes. Originally the film was set with Lasse Hallstrom but he left over scheduling conflicts. Then Bharat Nalluri came on but left after the project had more difficulties. Then, when Angelina Jolie came on, so did Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck but he left over "creative differences", along with Sam Worthington. But after many names were mooted, including Alfonso Cuarón, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck returned. What a challenge to get a film made - these people have way more patience than I do.

The Tourist is releasing on December 10 this year. Have a great day!

LOL@ Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck

I think he's just being difficult...he could have shortened that name a bit. But it does look like a fun movie.

I am very keen to see the movie Deni - someone was telling me that they both hated each other onset so if this is true it will be good to see how good at acting they both really are to pull off something romantic.
I love Jolie and Mr Depp is pretty good too - although every character I see him doing now somehow reminds me of Jack Sparrow - especially all his comedy stuff. Fingers crossed.

This looks great. And what a fantastic backdrop with Venice as the setting. The most beautiful city in the world. To have actually been to the locations in the film - makes you feel a part of the great adventure with Jolie and Depp. These are 2 of my greatests actors. Looking forward to the release date. K
